What INSTGRA 50MG is used for?
It is used:
- To control HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) infection
- Always used in combination with other anti-retroviral medicines to control HIV infection
Warning & Precautions
Talk to Doctor
Talk to your doctor before you take this medicine, if you:
- Are allergic to Dolutegravir or any of the other ingredients of this medicine
Pregnancy & Breast Feeding
- If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before taking this medicine
Children & Adolescents
- This medicine is not recommended to children under 6 years of age, weighing less than 15 kg or with HIV infection that is resistant to other medicines
- For children aged between 6 and 12 years your doctor will decide on the correct dose of this medicine, depending on the weight of your child
Driving & Using Machines
- Do not drive or operate any machines while taking this medicine as it may cause dizziness, less alert
Interactions
Tell your doctor if you are taking,
- Dofetilide (used to treat heart conditions)
- Metformin (used to treat diabetes)
- Antacids (used to treat indigestion and heartburn)
- Calcium supplements, iron supplements and multivitamins
- Any other drugs used to treat HIV infection
- Rifampicin (used to treat tuberculosis)
- Phenytoin, phenobarbital, oxcarbazepine, carbamazepine (used to treat epilepsy)
How to Use
- Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you
- ?Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it.
- Take Instgra Tablet with or without food, preferably at the same time everyday.
- Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better.
- Do not take antacids or calcium supplements an hour before or two hours after taking Instgra Tablet.
- Your doctor may monitor your liver function regularly during treatment. Inform your doctor if you notice yellowing of eyes or skin, dark urine, or stomach pain.
If you take more?INSTGRA 50MG
- If you take too much than your prescribed dose, contact your doctor for advice
If you forget to take INSTGRA 50MG
- If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember, skip the dose you missed and take the next one at the usual time
- Don"t take a double dose to make up for a missed dose
If you stop taking?INSTGRA 50MG
- Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor tells to do so
Side Effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them
Common
- Headache, nausea, vomiting
- Rash, itching (pruritus)
- Stomach pain (abdominal pain)
- Dizziness
- Abnormal dreams
- Depression (feelings of deep sadness and unworthiness), insomnia, anxiety
- Lack of energy (fatigue)
- Flatulence
- Increase in the level of enzymes produced in the muscles (creatine phosphokinase)
Uncommon
- High temperature (fever)
- Lack of energy (fatigue)
- Swelling, sometimes of the face or mouth (angioedema), causing difficulty in breathing
- Muscle or joint aches
- Inflammation of the liver (hepatitis)
Rare
- Liver failure (signs may include yellowing of the skin and the whites of the eyes or unusually dark urine)

Storage
- Keep this medicine out of reach of children
- Store at room temperature (15-25°C)
- Do not use this medicine after the expiry date
